Lahore, Pakistan – Mashghalay, Pakistan’s first ever creative community studio, has already transformed the creative scene by introducing the concept of an inclusive studio to the country. Now, it’s taking things a step further with pop-up workshops in diverse, relaxed settings ranging from coffee shops, cafés, festivals, corporate offices, coworking spaces, and even private homes.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to make creative and therapeutic workshops more accessible, in line with Mashghalay’s mission: creativity is for everyone and is a powerful tool for healing the mind, body, and soul.
“Everyone needs a creative workshop, even if it’s by Mashghalay or elsewhere, a pause to discover their creative self and feel whole,” says Amnah Ansari, CEO of Mashghalay. “Creative healing, using your motor skills and senses, brings us closer to ourselves and helps build trust in oneself and the process.”

The flexibility of Mashghalay’s pop-ups allows for greater accessibility for people across the city, with Each venue adding its own dynamic, bringing fresh energy and inspiration. “Jese har khokay mein pepsi milti hai, wese har coffee shop mein mashghalay milay ga” explains Momina Khawar, Managing and Creative Director at Mashghalay.
Fawad Nasir, Brand Manager, adds, “It’s about extending our little home to other communities and creating small wholesome safe spaces across our city. So, anyone who goes out looking, can find a lil Mashghalay around the corner”

Bringing the studio experience into new and unconventional places, these pop-ups are redefining how people engage with art and creative expression. “Above all, we’re giving people more ‘third spaces’ to unwind, hang out and build community” adds Tariq Fawad, Head of Business Strategy at Mashghalay, “Honestly, I’m just glad we finally have something to do besides deciding where to eat again”
Sheikh Iman Ali, our local resident artist, having collaborated with mashghalay on multiple occasion summed it up beautifully: “At this point in time, I’m reflecting on how blessed I am to have the people who make Mashghalay happen in my life. I’m so grateful to God for a safe space that lets you forget your problems.”

This initiative not only breaks down barriers but also fosters community. Mashghalay is proving that creativity is not just an art it’s a vital, healing force accessible to all. With pop-ups “popping up” across Pakistan, Mashghalay is leading the way in making creative expression a fundamental part of daily life.
