Sheikh Zohaib Rafique Sethi, senior vice president of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), said on Sunday that the “Al Rihla” football created in Sialkot would be used in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Speaking to APP, the SCCI SVP stated that it was a wonderful honor and source of pride for Sialkot and even Pakistan because a leading exports company headquartered in Sialkot, “Forward Sports,” had developed “Al Rihla” football for Adidas, which will be officially played at the FIFA football World Cup-2022.
He claimed that the brand “Forward Sports” would be utilized in the FIFA World Cup for the third time. He said that the design of football would reflect Qatari culture. According to Zohaib, the world is currently shifting toward sustainability, and the materials utilized in its production are bio-based recycling materials.
According to him, water-based chemicals that do not contaminate the environment were utilized to make footballs instead of solvent-based chemicals.
He said that the 20-panel ball was rated as one of the top footballs in the world.
The 2014 World Cup marked the first time “thermos bonding,” a novel technology, was used to stitch footballs, which had previously been hand-stitched during the World Cup. According to the SCCI SVP, the Sialkot industry would continue to contribute fully to boosting Pakistan’s economy.
