Creativity has always been in my genes. My mom is a fashion designer and was always creative. I as a child used to be obsessed with everything related to beauty – lipsticks, eyeshadows, nail colours, hair accessories, face creams, makeup products. Anything and everything related to beauty used to fascinate me. However, it wasn’t until my final year at college that I thought of pursuing makeup as a career. In fact during my school years I wanted to become a dentist and even had sciences as my subjects!

Did you ever consider or experience a career change?

What does nobody tell you about being the boss?
That it’s not all glitz and glamour. You need to work extremely hard, day and night to be a boss lady! And that there are times you fail but you need to stand back up again. Also, that you need to be a leader first in order to be a boas.

Name one boss lady that inspired you take your own path, and how did she inspire you?
My mom for sure. She’s inspired me ever since I was a child. Watching her lead in everything she does is what inspired me. Be it managing the house or her work. I’ve seen how she leads her own boutique and over a 50 plus male employees at her workshop yet not compromising on her personal life. She gives me super woman vibes!

Describe a typical day in (insert name)’s life?
A typical day would be waking up, having breakfast ( I never skip that no matter what) getting my baby girl (Haya) and myself ready for work. Checking up on my appointments, interviews, salon schedule and then planning the day along accordingly! Also making sure my husband Shahraiz and I get to have some good quality time once we’re home after work. That’s my favourite time of the day as we get to unwind after putting Haya to sleep and spend some quality time with each other, discuss the whole day, seek each others advices and watch our favourite tv show or movie with dinner together!
